PRIVACY STATEMENT

Introduction

This privacy statement covers the online dog rescue helpers web site dogsnose.org (hereafter referred to as 'dogsnose') at http://www.dogsnose.org. It contains links and information to dog rescues organisations, bodies and charities around the world, along with canine clubs, national dog bodies, canine products and services manufacturers, providers and service suppliers. Many will have their own web sites and privacy statements. Where links are provided in the dogsnose website to other websites, those other web sites are not covered by this privcay statement.

Dogsnose will take all reasonable steps and within its capabilities, complying with the laws of the United Kingdom, to ensure that your data is kept securely and to respect the information privacy of all visitors to its web site. It cannot, however, guarantee that data you supply will not be sourced by hackers or others illegally entering the site for that express purpose. The dogsnose site calls only for visitor data input in two specific areas - HELP DOGS! where individuals may elect to register to offer to dog rescues and where such dog rescues can register to search that helper database to find volunteers to assist their dog rescue service. The second area where visitor data is requested and retained in a secure password protected area on the dogsnose server, is the Dogsnose Forum. The HELP DOGS! database and Dognsose Forum, whilst held on the same United Kingdom based server, are maintained as separate secure databases. Neither is linked in anyway and each is subject to individual registration for access and subsequent visits. In both cases, those who register for access to either or both will wish to know that their passwords are encrypted and cannot be retreived by dogsnose administration.

Data Collection

Dogsnose collects personal information from visitors to the web site only with the permission of the individual in that by completing any online form or data-acquiring page, that person in doing so acknowledges that such information is being freely given in line with the purpose of its provision and the contents of this statement for specific use in the HELP DOGS! database and/or the Dogsnose Forum. Where appropriate, information is provided to explain the reason for collecting this data. Individual helpers will be required to register for access to the 'helper sign-up form' where they will be asked to provide their country, county/state/province and town of residence (with postal town where known), their first name only, their email address (and optionally telephone number if they wish) then to tick boxes for the areas in which they wish to help by offering their services/time as volunteer helpers to dog rescues. They will also be asked if they own a dog or dogs and where they heard about dogsnose. Computer IP addresses are also automatically acquired by dogsnose.org in the registration process for the helper database and Dogsnose Forum.

Dogsnose's intention is that all data collection points and the information sought is open and obvious to the web site visitor. No information supplied online to dogsnose is knowingly made available to any third party except for those dog rescues registering with dogsnose and whose bona fide existence in that role will be checked by the Dogsnose Administration. They too have to register with dogsnose giving fuller details including rescue name, contact name, address, email address, whether their dog rescue is a registered charity, registered with a National Kennel Club or other regulatory/controlling national canine body. It is the policy of dogsnose to retain given data, only for the purpose indicated at the HELP DOGS! and Dogsnose Forum pages of the web site. Individuals may access the HELP DOGS! database and amend or delete their form access registration data but NOT the data provided on the helper sign up form which can only be deleted by email request to Dogsnose administration. They can do the same with the Dogsnose Forum in terms of personal 'sign up' data but NOT posts made on the forums. The latter can only be deleted by moderators/administrators following an email request to dogsnose. Dog Rescues wishing to be deleted from the dogsnose database must advise Dogsnose Administration by email.

Children's Data

Dogsnose, in its HELP DOGS! database and Dogsnose Forum does NOT accept registration by chilkdren aged 15 or under. Where such breeches do occur, for whatever reason, the Dogsnose Administration will remove that data immediately and de-activate that registration, notifying the person concerned. No one aged below 16 should try to register on the dogsnose web site. Dogsnose does not apply United States COPPA regulations as the self-imposed age limitation of the dogsnose web site precludes application of the US regulation.

Online Payments and Associated Data

In order to make an online payment or donation by credit or debit card, the site visitor will be directed to PayPal via the appropriate link button. Information on the sum paid and its purpose will appear within PayPal's transaction pages and in a confirmation of receipt of payment email sent to dogsnose.org by PayPal. That detail will be retained and used only by dogsnose.org; it will NOT be passed to any other party.

Rescues and Products & Services Listings

All listings on the Dogs Rescues and Dog Directories pages of the web site are made on the basis of rescues, canine organisations and services & products suppliers having either confirmed acceptance of their listing by email and/or by their request that such a listing in the format shown be made. Detail is limited to location, name of rescue/organisation/directory entrant, email address, charity number (in some cases) and with Dog Directories entries and limited description of the product or service as supplied by the directory entrant. All listings can be removed or amended following the entrants request through contact with dogsnose.org.
